Made from locally sourced Irish Sycamore and turned on my footpowered Lathe. These bowl sets are inspired by the forms of ceramic Spongeware shown in "Irish Country Furniture and Furnishings 1700 - 2000" by Claudia Kinmonth<br><br>Each of these bowl sets was carved out of the previous bigger bowl. The waste left becoming the next smaller bowl. Bowl turning<br>Learn how to turn wooden Bowls on a Foot-powered Lathe.<br>An ancient craft using one of the most ancient technologies and simple self made machines and tools.<br><br>We'll be aiming to make a general use bowl from locally sourced wood. Working<br>together to spark the deep craft and love of learning that is in us all. Bowl turning<br>Learn how to turn wooden Bowls on a Foot-powered Lathe.<br>An ancient craft using one of the most ancient technologies and simple self made machines and tools.<br><br>We'll be aiming to make a general use bowl from locally sourced wood. Working<br>together to spark the deep craft and love of learning that is in us all. Dee will meet you where you are at in your craft journey. <br><br>All tools and materials provided as well as a tasty lunch. <br>Location: The Barn on Bollingbrook hill in North Tipperary

2 Day Bowl Turning and Carving Workshop 17-18 May

Two ways to make wooden bowls<br><br>We'll be aiming to make a couple of general use bowls from locally sourced wood, one made on a foot powered lathe and the other using axes and adzes.<br>All tools and materials will be provided.<br>Lunch will be supplied on both days and a high protein meal will be included on the Saturday evening in order to ensure proper repair of tired muscles. Please let us know your dietary re1uirements ahead of the event<br>There is free camping available in our field, and we will have a fire pit to sit around on the Saturday evening.<br><br><br>
